PASTA MAKING
Culinary skill is embedded in the genetic code of all Italians. If you'd like to discover some of the gestures and flavors that convinced UNESCO to include Italian cuisine in its World Heritage list, I'll host you at my home for a simple and informal Piedmontese handmade pasta making class.
We'll begin by kneading and shaping the iconic Tajarin and lean Agnolotti or Cappelletti to cook in broth. We'll continue with a couple of sauces to accompany the pasta, and finally, a dessert. You'll discover that creating our delicacies isn't that difficult, and upon your return, you'll be able to impress your friends and family with your newfound culinary talent. The experience lasts about 3 hours, and don't worry, wine will always be on our side.
THE "MERENDA SINOIRA"
The Merenda Sinoira is rooted in Piedmontese farming tradition, when work in the fields, especially in the vineyards, was tiring and required a lot of energy to get through the day.
This tradition birthed the modern aperitivo and, more recently, the expression "apericena." If you'd like to experience a true aperitivo in the intimacy of a local home, I look forward to meeting you at my home to share platters of delicious cured meats and cheeses, savory pies, vegetables, and sweets. We'll savor these and other Piedmontese delicacies, washed down with fine wine. We'll prepare dessert together, because modern times are tough and we all need a little sweetness.
The Merenda Sinoira is an afternoon experience, but you can also try it at lunchtime if you'd like.
