Turin's historic center is being transformed into a vast pedestrian area, allowing for long, pleasant strolls around the city's main attractions and historic buildings. The project began a couple of decades ago and is now nearing completion with the pedestrianization of the city's main shopping street, Via Roma. It will take a few more months, but in the meantime, the first completed sections have been unveiled, revealing a completely new street, free of steps and stairs to allow for better mobility for all. One small, interesting detail is gaining popularity, especially among Instagrammers and amateur photographers: the view of the sunset surrounded by the buildings of Via Roma and against the backdrop of the elliptical dome of the Porta Nuova station is truly romantic.
